I’ll be honest—Purslane wasn’t always on my radar. But once I gave it a go, I was hooked. I planted a few seeds by accident (I spilled a packet, to be honest), and weeks later I had a lush patch of juicy, lemony greens without lifting a finger. It’s one of those plants you can rely on—even when you forget to water.

The best part? It’s super nutritious. We toss it in salads, chuck it in stir-fries, or just nibble it straight from the garden. The kids even like it!

Sowing Guide (Australia):

• When: Spring through early autumn
• Soil: Anything well-drained

• Water gently and keep moist till they pop up
• Thin out once they’ve settled in
